| Comments | :: | Arrived at the end of a blowy day at about 5:30pm. After a quick chat with the only other pilot, decided to get to the front to see what it was like. After 10 minutes, realised it was getting to light almost. Took off just as a few others turned up. Nice float for 20 minutes then landed. Out front a big cloud system came over and it got quite light. I waited it out and try again 20 minutes later. I was rewarded with some good lift at at 1500 feet ATO went with it. Thats when it went ballistic. Cores were at 1100fpm, strongest I have had all year. At +2300 feet, strong inversion and no more height. Drifted with what I had and repeated the trick a few km later [strong core, inversion]. Wind shifted off to NE, and a landed at about 7:30pm. Wow what an end to the day |
