| Comments | :: | At last got up in the air for some quality time!! The wind stayed bang on (a little east in the North saw us using the NE take off) and stayed flyable right through until 5.00 pm when it fell light. Managed to get a good couple of hours in the air. Getting there was frustrating as I was forced to have an extended journey through back roads as they had closed the M4 Westbound. Arrived at Westbury to very gloomy conditions and base at only about 100M above TO. Paul and Kay arrived soon afterwards followed by Mr Ford (a real TV day out!)The lift was intermittent with some quite nice thermals (don't know how that was working as it was so dull!) A couple of walk ups from the lower ridge got the sweat pouring but most of the time there was enough dynamic lift to keep us floating well enough. Took the video camera this time so will try and get around to editing it and putting it on the site. |
