| Comments | :: | First time visit to this NW site, and the sky looked great. Quite a busy day with a friendly crowd on take off, but unfriendly air with rough, bullet thermals that seemed to go nowhere. Kirsty soon escaped from all this nonsense, finding pleasant XC conditions, and flew to Swanage beach to get an ice cream, while many of us decided to land to calm the nerves. A few more eventually climbed out as the day progressed but it never looked any smoother, so lots sat it out enjoying the sunshine and the banter on the hill. Apparently it's often quite a rough site to fly. |
