| Comments | :: | Arrived at my local SW site at lunch time to find great looking sky, wind smack on, but just a little too strong. Decided to go on to Sugar. Had some reasonable soaring but wind was gusty and backing gradually all the while! By 5 pm wind was due south, so flew down to pack up and go home. Surprise surprise! along comes a pilot, Ian Hopcraft, on his way home from Milk White Horse. Unfazed by the southerly wind and late hour he proceeded up the hill and prepared his wing. It was his first flight at this site and he enjoyed his cross-wind take-off and inevitable top to bottom. |
